Editors, Writers, and Award Committee Volunteers Wanted: The Army FAO Handbook, Unit Blue Book, Spouse Award, and more

Army FAOs,

As the association closes its second year, it has begun planning its goals for the third year. First, several volunteers have worked diligently on establishing the foundation of the Army FAO Handbook. This book will be the cornerstone of our Corps, bringing together every aspect of our career field, from a brief history to an overview of training, to a resource list for spouses, and many more areas. Ideally, this book will be given to each new Army FAO as they are accessioned into our Corps, guiding them throughout their career. The most challenging part of this project is the initial version, and we are seeking editors and writers to assist us in completing it. Next, an Army FAO Unit Blue Book will list out every unit Army FAOs work in, give a short overview of each, and list out the most senior Army FAO in the unit. Eventually, this book will expand to include a one-page summary of housing, schools, and other resources available to families. Lastly, we continue to look to expand our awards committee and establish new award categories. We welcome anyone, including spouses, to assist the association in establishing these latest awards.

If you are interested in volunteering, whether in a writing aspect, as an editor, or leading or assisting in our awards committee, please reach out to our president at armyfaoassociation@gmail.com.

Yours in FAO,
AFAOA
